Dynesys Dynamic Stabilization System

Here's some of the hardware that was put in my back on March 4th, 2009. It's a new back surgery & thought I'd post it here incase anybody would like to know a bit about it. There is a support group on Facebook that has a lot of info, and anyone who had this surgery or who is contemplating having it should go read what others have to say.

Hi Janis, it's Kelly Borg here! Thanks so much for your kind and caring comments on my blog. Sounds like you are in a bit of trouble yourself there girlie, having read your back history.

Thought you might like to know that I set up a Dynesis group in Facebook (join for free, search for group by words 'Dynesis' or 'back') which now has 15 members - members are pre & post op, had revisions and removals - a mixed bunch. In fact, 3 of our US members have had their surgery in the last 3 months. We're a friendly bunch who offer each other support and advice. Plus a bit of humour to lift our spirits when things get rough. I hope to see you signing into the group soon!!!

Take care & keep popping those meds m'dear. Kelly x

Hi. I was wondering how things were going after your surgery? I had this put in July 08 and had to have it removed in November 08. The dr put in the screws crooked. I knew 3 weeks after surgery something was not right. I was told to go to aquatic therapy to see if it would help-it only made it worse for me. I went to get a 2nd opinion and had a bunch more tests done only to find out I had to have total disc replacement. It was that bad-the herniation was never taken care of and the screws were rubbing against by nerve. I feel like a different person today. I am totally mobile and can do everything like nothing ever happened. I hope yours was a success.
